This privacy policy relates to the Find Your Future website which is owned by Central Bedfordshire Council. This policy should be read together with the Council’s data protection and privacy statement.

The main objective of the Find Your Future website is to provide information about, and links to, national and local services which can help the people of Central Bedfordshire find advice on education, job searches and career options.
We have a contact form on the website for general enquiries. We only ask for the minimum amount of information necessary in order to answer your questions your name, email address and phone number. We may refer your enquiry to someone else in the Council if they are better placed to answer your questions.

Security of the Find Your Future website
The Find Your Future website is built on a software platform called Squarespace. It is also hosted by them.
The Find Your Future website is SSL-enabled. SSL, or Secure Sockets Layer, is a technology that secures the connection between browsers and websites and provides three important security benefits: privacy via encryption; data integrity as it prevents unauthorised parties from altering data during transmission; and authentication which protects against impersonation by requiring web server proof of identity. Our website uses 2048 bit SSL encryption on all its pages.
Squarespace stores data in multiple Tier III data centres across the United States and has self-certified to the EU-US and Swiss-US Privacy Shield. You can read more about Squarespace’s Privacy Shield certifications here.

When someone visits the Find Your Future website we use Google Analytics and Squarespace Analytics to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. You can find out more about all of this here:

We use hotjar to gather user feedback on the effectiveness of the Find Your Future website. These surveys are anonymous, and we do not collect any personal information as part of this feedback process.
